Honeycrisp Apple Sangria Cocktail Recipe | stupidDOPE.com

Honeycrisp is a variety of apple that is known for its crispness, sweetness and long shelf life in ideal conditions. The hybrid apple is not one of the most popular ones but for those in the know, the Honeycrisp makes a great dessert apple or a cocktail garnish like in this Apple Sangria from Fake Ginger. Here?s what you?ll need:

  • 2 Honeycrisp apples
  • 2 oranges
  • lemon
  • lime
  • White Wine (750 ml)
  • 1/2 cup peach schnapps
  • 1/4 cup orange blossom honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 quarter-size slices of fresh ginger
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Club soda

Peel and chop one of the apples. Quarter one orange, the lemon, and the lime, then in a large bowl, combine the wine, schnapps and honey. Stir in the chopped fruit, cinnamon sticks, ginger and cloves. Refrigerate the blend for at least 4 hours.

Next, strain the sangria into a pitcher, chop the remaining apple and orange and mix them in a bowl. Separately, combine sugar and cinnamon and coat the rim of wine glasses. Pour in the sangria until three-quarters full, top with a splash of club soda, garnish desired amount of chopped apple and orange, and finally enjoy.
